What does a typical day in your role look like?
Depending on the time of year, my day can be calm and structured or completely the opposite—busy with shifting priorities. No two days are the same, and that’s what I enjoy most about the role.
How did you get into this role?
It happened by accident! I started out in accounting roles and was asked to cover for a colleague who was off sick. That’s when I caught the supply chain bug—and I’ve never looked back.
Did you need to study for this role, if so, what did you study?
Not at first, but I later completed a Diploma in Supply Chain Management to complement my experience.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The variety and the challenges each day brings. It’s rare for two days to be the same.
What’s something unique, surprising, or fun about your role or team?
The diverse range of people involved in the kiwifruit supply chain is what makes it truly unique.
What advice would you give someone interested in your role or career path?
Choose a job that you enjoy and that gives you the fulfilment you deserve. You spend a huge part of your life at work—too long to be bored or unhappy.
