Coolstore Operations Manager
What does a typical day in your role look like?
I start by reviewing my weekly schedule and preparing for any upcoming meetings. I check in with my operations team to monitor headcounts, absenteeism, and whether we’re on track with operational requirements. I review temperature data in the system and action any issues. I also do weekly one-on-ones with my direct reports and contact contractors when needed.
How did you get into this role?
I’ve been at EastPack for over a decade. I started in a seasonal floor role, then moved into the office as an Inventory Admin & Coordinator. After that, I became Inventory & Logistics Manager for three years. This is my first season as a Coolstore Manager, and I love it!
Did you need to study for this role, if so, what did you study?
No formal study—mostly on-the-job training. A key part of my role is understanding all the operational departments so we can do our job well.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The people. I love seeing others thrive and grow outside their comfort zones. The culture at EastPack is great, and I’m quite competitive, so I enjoy being part of a winning team.
What’s something unique, surprising, or fun about your role or team?
There aren’t many female Coolstore Managers in the industry. I’m proud to be paving the way for other women.
What advice would you give someone interested in your role or career path?
Back yourself! Anything is achievable. Come hang out and see if you’re up for the challenge.
