Business/Data Analyst
What does a typical day in your role look like?
My role focuses on Loadout Priorities — making sure fruit is shipped in the right order at the right time. What that looks like can vary depending on the time of year (pre-, post-, or during harvest). Day to day, I’m constantly reviewing fruit quality both onshore and offshore, comparing it to historical data and known quality indicators like brix levels.
How did you get into this role?
I started by applying for a basic data role within the industry and worked my way up from there.
Did you need to study for this role, if so, what did you study?
No formal study was required, but I recommend taking data analytics courses to build a strong foundation.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy deep diving into datasets where the outcome isn’t known. It’s like solving a puzzle — uncovering insights and patterns that help improve decision-making.
What’s something unique, surprising, or fun about your role or team?
There’s a lot of freedom within a framework. I get to reinvent, analyse, and improve how we do things, which keeps the work fresh and engaging.
What advice would you give someone interested in your role or career path?
Put yourself out there. Ask questions, challenge the process (within reason), and always operate with a growth mindset. That’s how you learn and progress.
